Hamilton Boys & Girls Club has submitted an application for funding grant to the TEAM UP FOUNDATION. They have been offering great services for the youth in our community, including the new-comer youth. Please vote for the HAMILTON BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB following the 5 easy steps below:

Click on “View the Candidates”.
Find and click on “Boys and Girls Clubs of Hamilton” (we are currently on the first of four pages of submissions but this may change from day to day).
Click on “Vote for this Charity” (you will need to register the first time you vote but can simply log in each time afterwards).

Beasley Winter Carnival 2012

The Neighbourhood is having a Winter Carnival! Rain, sleet or snow come on out for games, activities, prizes and snacks on Saturday February 11th from 2pm to 5pm in Beasley Park! It's a guaranteed good time! Featuring the annual Beasley ice rink!

Charges Laid in Connection with Beasley Park Dumping

Thank you to Hamilton Police, Public Health, Public Works and especially Municipal Law Enforcement for keeping a vigilant eye on Beasley Park and issuing charges related to the dumping of garbage and needles in Beasley park. The Beasley Neighbourhood Association would also like to thank Beasley residents who voiced their concerns and reported incidents to the city and police.

Barb Edwards

Barb Edwards, one of the first members of the Beasley Neighbourhood Association and a founding member of the Beasley Badger newsletter has recently passed away. Her spirit helped get the Beasley Neighbourhood Association off of the ground and helped it develop into what it is today.

A time of remembrance will be held at Dodsworth & Brown, 15 West Ave., Hamilton on Saturday, January 14, 2012 from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. with service in the chapel at 3 p.m.

Bulldogs Childrens Skating Program

The Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Club and the Bulldogs Foundation, in coordination with the City of Hamilton, launched the Hamilton Bulldogs Skate The Dream program to break the barriers preventing local children from learning to skate and playing hockey.

The pilot project, which will be based out of Eastwood Arena in Hamilton’s North end, is an opportunity for up to 100 children between the ages of 6 to 10 to participate in a learn-to-skate program combined with a 3-on-3 learn-to-play hockey introductory program. Hamilton native and Stanley Cup champion Ric Nattress is the Honorary Chair of the program, and will also be providing on-ice instruction.

Curious about the air you breath? Come to the Central Library to hear the results of an air sample test. Air samples were taken in 11 neighbourhoods to study the levels of five air pollutants. Results of this study will be presented by: Dr. Denis Corr of Rotek Environmental Inc, and Green Venture.

Community professionals are available at a variety of locations to meet with families and their children from newborn to 6 years of age to offer consultation, teaching and referral with respect to their child's development. Early child development identification sessions are free and no appointment is needed. Registration takes place at the start of the session. Click here for more information.
